With the aim of encouraging initiatives that contribute to community recovery, the Creatives for a Nation Foundation held a celebration this evening to honor a number of people from Wadi al-Nadara area who played a major role in community recovery, at the Cultural Center in Marmarita.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr. Bahjat Akroush, stated to SANA correspondent that the event is a tribute to everyone who contributed to keeping the area healthy and safe despite all the terrorism it was exposed to, stressing that they were real men in their support for their people, whether as individuals or institutions, indicating that a group of scientific and social figures and economic figures were chosen who contributed to supporting the people, initiatives and institutions.
Among the honorees, Hala Ahwash, Director of the Wadi Office of the Martyr Foundation and a member of its Board of Trustees, said: The honor is a very nice gesture from the foundation, stressing that everything they did during the war and earthquake period is their duty towards their homeland and country, as their last initiative after the earthquake was the “We Are Your Home” initiative, which witnessed great support from all parties for families displaced from the rest of the governorates, noting that the campaign is still ongoing.
Dr. Boussef Abdelki from Wadi University confirmed that the honor is an important initiative that encourages segments of society to give, especially the youth.
Dr. Jack Al-Shami, an expatriate, investor and doctor, explained that the honor is very important to emphasize that what unites the honorees is the love of the homeland and working for what is best for it.
Zaher Yazigi, organizer of the Marmarita Carnival, confirmed in turn that the honor is for the carnival as a whole, which, with the cooperation of all its participants, was able to spread joy and love in the most difficult times.
